ristina M. Rau is the author of How We Make Amends (MOONLOVE Press 2023), What We Do To Make Us Whole (Alien Buddha Press 2021), the Elgin Award winning sci-fi fem poetry collection Liberating The Astronauts (Aqueduct Press 2017) and the chapbooks WakeBreatheMove (Finishing Line Press 2015) and For The Girls, I (dancing girl press 2014). She served as the premiere Poet In Residence for Cedaremere, currently serves as Poet In Residence for Oceanside Library, and was named Long Island Poet of the Year 2020 by Walt Whitman Birthplace Association . She is also the founder of Poets In Nassau, a reading circuit on Long Island, NY. She teaches English at Nassau Community College where she also serves as Editor for The Nassau Review . Her poetry has appeared on gallery walls in The Ekphrastic Poster Show, on car magnets for The Living Poetry Project, and most recently here and here.
She earned her MFA in Creative Writing at LIU Southampton, her MA in English and Creative Writing at Hofstra, and her BS in English at SUNY Oneonta. She has held readings and conducted poetry writing workshops throughout the United States.
In her non-writing life, she teaches yoga, practices reiki, and watches the Game Show Network (she lost big time on $100000 Pyramid!)
