2/1 Creative Things

Hi everyone,

I started Spring semester. Life is a blur. Typos may occur.

THINGS HAPPENED

I saw art: Luna Luna was a fever dream. The Nassau County Museum of Art opening for Deco at 100 proved that Deco is more than The Great Gatsby. Poster House has a fun interactive make-your-own poster plus a be-in-a-poster photo booth, both of which I highly enjoy. I visited Barrier Brewing for Rattle and Hum, another other-worldly art experience. The Kafka exhibit at the Morgan Library turned out to be very Kafkaesque as did the Book of Marvels exhibit. Maybe the whole world is Kafkaesque.

Additionally, Meditate, Move, and Create with ESWA began and has one session left. Join us on Wednesday 2/5 online! https://www.easternshorewriters.org/event-5986563

And then join me for an in-person session at Oceanside Library on 2/15: https://oceansidelibrary.libcal.com/event/13391950

And then the next day in Brooklyn for Boog City Arts Festival (info below).

KUDOS!

Congratulations to Bruce AllOne and Conscious Robot for releasing Four Maras!

Congratulations to Mark Nuccio for the publication of Just This Side of Heaven!

BOOKSHELF

I finished my book club book and then started the next one—RuPaul’s The House of Hidden Meanings—even though I’m missing the meeting since I was invited to read at Boog City Arts Festival on the same day. Never fear, book clubbers, I’m sending a game along for Nikki to host. I’m also reading a bunch of poetry collections.

I got to narrate this scifi short story, and the experience reinforced the fact that my non-English language skills need some help (and the editor Will thankfully keeps inviting me back).
